Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect care in the operating room. The role involves assisting surgeons, preparing sterile fields, and mentoring other technologists and students.

Candidates should hold a Surgical Technology credential and BLS certification. Responsibilities include case preparation, equipment readiness, and supporting intraoperative team needs across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Scrub in and set up sterile field prior to incision.
• Assemble case back table and mayo equipment for seamless turnover.
• Anticipate case needs and communicate with surgeon to adjust as needed.
• Precept staff and students in planning and executing surgical events.
• Manage on-call responsibilities, including after-hours, weekends and holidays.

BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology
