Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to provide direct and indirect care during operative procedures in a dynamic OR setting. The role includes preparing for procedures, maintaining sterile fields, and functioning as a resource/mentor to other technologists and students.

The candidate should have an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or a related certificate, BLS certification, and the ability to support multiple case types while adapting to surgeon preferences.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient enters room.
• Scrub and assist on cases across specialties; run mayo/organize back table.
• Precept and mentor staff and students in planning for surgical events.
• Assist in case closing activities and turnover; ensure supplies available.
