Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives at the Tucson, AZ site. You will manage audits, CAPAs, risk assessments, and supplier development, partnering with cross-functional teams to assure AS9100/ISO9001 compliance and robust supplier performance.

The role requires mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, and traveling up to 50% to supplier locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 4+ years relevant experience or equivalent
• Experience leading supplier audits and supplier development initiatives
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and related quality systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs and GD&T
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic/international)
• U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, approval and performance management for strategic/high-risk suppliers
• Act as primary supplier quality authority for assigned suppliers
• Lead investigations of supplier escapes and nonconformances
• Facilitate advanced root cause analysis and CAPA activities
• Develop and execute supplier improvement plans
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and mitigate risks
• Perform supplier audits per AS9100/ISO9001 requirements
• Lead APQP/PPAP activities including PFMEAs and PFEPs
• Analyze supplier quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support supplier transfers and NPI
• Mentor junior SQEs and drive cross-functional CI initiatives
• Travel to supplier facilities to support audits and development
