Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality programs for multiple business units on an onsite schedule. You will report to the Director of Quality and support the Supply Chain Director in strategic supplier management.

You will drive APQP/PPAP readiness, lead RCCA, and push continuous improvement while traveling up to 50% to supplier sites domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 7+ years experience in quality management within a regulated industry (aerospace, defense, marine) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools including SPC, APQP (PFMEA, Control Plans), and robust root cause analysis.
• Proven success managing supplier improvements through audits and corrective action.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive a proactive Supplier Quality program for multiple business units.
• Measure and communicate all Supplier Quality metrics; drive continuous improvement with suppliers (CARs, mitigation actions).
• Enforce contract/purchase order requirements; develop suppliers and drive RCCA.
• Lead supplier quality planning and qualification activities (APQP, PPAP, process validation, NPI).
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality problems; lead continuous improvement projects for zero defects.
• Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, program quality, supplier chain and operations leadership.
• Engage in sourcing decisions to mitigate risk and reduce cost of ownership.
• Lead business reviews with supplier management; monitor performance trends.
• Manage and develop a high-performing Supplier Quality team.
• Travel to supplier facilities as needed for audits, investigations and development initiatives.
