Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense, Tucson, AZ, seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives across aerospace & defense and marine programs. This onsite role partners with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, audits, risk assessments, and supplier development.

As a technical leader, you will mentor junior engineers, manage supplier performance data, and implement robust quality systems in line with AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with relevant supplier quality/engineering experience.
• Experience leading supplier audits, CAPAs, and supplier development initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and APQP/PPAP methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, approval, surveillance, audits, and performance management for strategic suppliers.
• Serve as primary supplier quality authority for assigned suppliers in Aerospace & Defense and Marine sectors.
• Lead investigations of supplier escapes, major nonconformances, and field failures, including MRB support.
• Facilitate advanced root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, FTA, and DMAIC; verify effectiveness of actions.
• Develop and execute supplier improvement plans focusing on quality, delivery, and system maturity.
