Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and mentor junior staff. You will oversee steel and concrete structures, foundations, and related components for bid/construction packages, while ensuring compliance with codes and seismic design standards.

Preferred candidates hold PE or SE licensure and are willing to travel to client sites. Portland OR preferred; remote within Pacific/Mountain time zones considered.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Civil-Structural Eng with 5+ years of relevant experience; or MS with 3+ years.
PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain in 3–12 months.
SE licensure preferred.
Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MathCad required.
Proficient in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Develop junior staff; oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
