Job summary
Leidos in Portland, OR is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews of steel and concrete structures. You will mentor junior staff and manage package development for substation projects, with travel to client sites as needed.
The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS in Civil-Structural Engineering, is experienced with seismic loading, and may have or obtain PE/SE licensure. Strong analytical and writing skills are essential.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
- PE license preferred in CA, WA or OR, or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
- SE licensure is preferred.
- Experience with design and review of structures and foundations to industry codes under seismic loading.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects as a senior engineer and perform design reviews.
- Develop junior staff members and mentor project teams.
- Support bid/construction packages for substation projects.
- Travel to client sites for inspections and meetings as needed.
