Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility experience to lead design reviews and mentor junior staff on substation projects.

You will perform structural and foundation analyses, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with industry codes under seismic loading. Occasional site visits and travel to client meetings are expected. Portland, OR preferred; remote work considered for candidates in Pacific/Mountain time zones.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE License preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain licensure within 3–12 months.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Mathcad is required.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation is required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Function as a senior engineer leading projects and developing junior staff.
• Perform design and review for structures and foundations under seismic loading conditions.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and travel for meetings.
