Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and mentor junior staff. The role focuses on steel and concrete structures, foundations, and seismic loading, with site visits to client substations and occasional travel.

Preferred location Portland, OR, with potential travel; strong technical writing and software skills are essential, including STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
PE license preferred; SE licensure preferred; able to obtain in CA/WA/OR within 3–12 months.
Proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD; familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

Lead projects as a senior engineer and mentor junior staff.
Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Coordinate design/review for structures and foundations under seismic loading.
Conduct site visits to client substations and travel as needed.
