Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and develop bid/construction packages. The role involves guiding a team of engineers and drafters, with travel to client sites as needed.

Preferred location is Portland, OR, with flexibility for remote arrangements within suitable time zones. Candidates should have a strong background in steel, concrete, geotechnical design, and seismic loading considerations.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE License preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain licensure within 3–12 months.
• SE licensure preferred.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Develop bid/construction packages and mentor junior staff.
• Work with seismic design and site investigations, including client site visits.
