Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in North America. The role involves hands-on substation engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients, coordinating with multiple engineering groups and supporting business development activities.

You will provide leadership for project delivery, mentor junior staff, and engage with clients to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence across HV/EHV systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant Substation experience (4kV–500kV).
• Experience with substation layouts, bus configurations, grounding, HV/EHV design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE codes and local regs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, studies and delivery of substation projects (4kV–500kV).
• Prepare bidding documents, BOMs, shop drawings, and specs.
• Lead project estimates, proposals, and client engagement.
• Coordinate with civil, HV/P&C, telecom, and geotechnical teams.
• Act as PM, Proposal Manager and mentor junior staff.
