Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to lead the Substation Electrical team within the Power Delivery & Renewables unit in North America. You will manage project engineering, proposal management, and client engagement, while ensuring compliance with NEC and IEEE standards.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with protection & control, transmission planning, renewables, and other Arcadis groups, with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation design and studies for AIS/GIS substations.
• PE License.
• Proficient in critical engineering software: SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS.

Responsibilities

• Lead Substation Electrical team and coordinate with PD&R leaders for resource planning and execution.
• Develop and deliver utility and developer projects from concept through construction support.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection&control, system planning and studies, and SCADA/telecom engineers to produce complete design packages.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager and Technical Lead to support growth and client goals.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct QA/QC, and engage with clients, contractors, and vendors for BD and delivery.
