Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer within the Power Delivery & Renewable unit in North America. The role combines hands-on substation design with project management, client engagement, and collaboration across engineering teams to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

You will coordinate with HV/EHV teams, mentor junior staff, and may travel up to 25% to client sites. Strong technical and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within Substation projects from 4kV up to 500kV.
• Experience with substation physical layouts, section elevations, bus configurations, grounding, and HV/EHV design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS or similar.
• Design experience adhering to NEC, NESC, IEEE codes and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Engineering, detail design, studies and delivery of substation projects 4kV–500kV with quality, schedule, and safety.
• Prepare bidding documents, specifications, BOMs, and construction docs.
• Lead project estimates, proposals, and client engagement activities.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, HV P&C, telecoms, geotechnical engineers for complete design packages.
• Act as Project Manager/Proposal Manager/Technical Lead to support growth in the region.
• Mentor junior engineers and support client meetings and BD initiatives.
