Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team in North America. You will lead hands-on substation design, studies, and project execution while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

This senior role requires 12+ years in HV/EHV substation engineering, a PE license, and proficiency in SKM/ETAP/CAPE/CDEGS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and PE License are required.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant substation experience in AIS/GIS, HV/EHV.
• Experience with utility-scale, developer, or large industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Substation Electrical team and coordinate with PD&R leaders.
• Oversee project engineering, studies, and detailed design packages.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors to support delivery.
• Provide QA/QC on electrical engineering deliverables.
• Travel up to 20% to client sites and meetings.
