Job summary

Arcadis is hiring a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in North America. The role covers hands-on substation design, detail engineering, studies, and coordination with civil, structural, HV P&C, telecommunications, and other teams.

Travel up to 25% is expected to client sites and meetings. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in substations (4kV–500kV), and proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, and CDEGS/WinIGS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in substations from 4kV to 500kV; ability to deliver complete substation packages with minimal supervision.
• Experience with substation physical layouts, bus configurations, grounding, control building, lighting, HV/EHV design, and associated studies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS; familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE codes, and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, detail design, studies, and delivery of substation projects from 4kV to 500kV.
• Prepare bidding docs, specifications, BOMs, shop drawings, procurement and construction documents.
• Lead project estimates, client engagement, and business development activities.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, high-voltage P&C, telecoms, geotechnical teams to deliver complete design packages.
• Act as Project Manager and Technical Lead to support regional growth and client goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct QA/QC on work.
