Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead high voltage and EHV substation projects within the Power & Energy Management Team. Based in Houston, Austin, or Fort Worth with remote work options, you will manage technical, schedule, quality, and financial aspects while developing client relationships and marketing Power Delivery services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 12 years of post-education PM experience in the Power/Delivery/Utility industry.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for HV/EHV substation projects.
• Experience with PM processes: contract management, risk, scheduling, EVMS, QA/QC.
• Occasional travel is required to meet client/project needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for HV/EHV substation projects, managing budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop and foster stakeholder engagement strategies and report progress.
• Lead pursuit activities including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Lead contract negotiations and client presentations.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and appropriate staffing for reviews.
• Coordinate resources and subcontracting, ensuring timely delivery and reporting.
• Complete project closeout and document lessons learned; provide high-level strategic client support.
