Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC (QISG) seeks an Engineering Project Manager – Substation to lead technically and coordinate projects from scope through closeout. You will ensure design quality, schedules, and budgets align with client requirements.

The role requires the full lifecycle oversight, collaboration with engineering and construction teams, and strong leadership to deliver safe, reliable substations and modernize grid infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing engineering related duties and/or management for high voltage electrical projects.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Strategically collaborate with engineering and operational leadership on technical goals and oversee engineering work.
• Act as a technical lead through conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases; participate in customer or jobsite visits.
• Define engineering scope, deliverables, assumptions, and technical requirements for each project.
• Manage performance of engineering partners and review KPIs with senior leadership.
• Facilitate design reviews, constructability reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure internal technical documentation and standards are upheld.
• Develop and implement training strategies to elevate substation engineering teams; support proposals and project planning.
• Coordinate with Quanta Engineering and Construction Operating Units to drive work.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in processes and methodologies.
• Represent QISG in industry forums and professional associations.
