Job summary

Arcadis in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to lead hands-on design and studies for utility and developer clients across North America. You will coordinate with multi-discipline teams, prepare proposals, and ensure quality, safety, and code-compliant deliverables.

The role includes leading design packages for HV/EHV substations and mentoring junior staff while traveling up to 25% to client sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within Substation projects from 4kV up to 500kV.
• Experience with substation physical layouts, bus configurations, grounding, and HV/EHV design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, for substation design.
• Design experience following NEC, NESC, IEEE and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, detail design, studies and delivery of substation projects from 4kV to 500kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, specifications, BOMs, shop drawings, procurement and construction docs.
• Lead project estimates, engineering estimates and client engagement activities.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, P&C, telecom, geotechnical engineers for complete design packages.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager and Technical Lead to support growth.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in client and vendor meetings.
