Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to lead our Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. The role combines hands-on engineering, project leadership, and client engagement across large utility and developer projects, with up to 20% travel.

The successful candidate will manage design, studies, and technical coordination, while mentoring engineers and driving proposals, schedules, and quality to meet Arcadis standards and client needs.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 12+ years in substation engineering, layouts, bus configurations, grounding, HV/EHV design.
• Experience in Power Delivery substation consultancy and renewables.
• Proficient in NEC, NESC, IEEE codes and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Substation Electrical team; manage resources and QA.
• Coordinate with civil/structure, protection & control, and planning teams.
• Provide project management, proposal management, and client engagement.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality across deliverables.
• Support business development and client growth in the region.
