Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Drafter – Substation to support the design of electrical substations across our projects. The role requires solid CAD skills, familiarity with AutoCAD, and a proactive eye for detail in a collaborative engineering environment.

You will join Engineering, report to the Design Lead, and contribute to project inception through completion while following CAD standards and document control practices.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• No experience required for an entry level position in the electric utility industry; more CAD/design experience could lead to higher pay.
• Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail software.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
