Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) seeks a Drafter – Substation to support design of high-voltage substations across projects. You will apply CAD techniques and AutoCAD standards under a Lead Designer, contributing to quality and timely delivery.

This role emphasizes design from inception to completion, collaboration with engineering teams, and adherence to corporate CAD standards. Entry-level opportunities exist; experienced drafters are encouraged to apply for higher pay bands.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• No experience required for an entry level position in the electric utility industry; more experience could result in a higher pay band.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD preferred).
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Learn and use the document management system and suggest improvements.
