Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Drafter - Substation to perform routine design assignments for substation projects. You will use AutoCAD and CAD standards under a Lead Designer, supporting across the QISG platform.

Responsibilities include design work from inception to completion, applying quality control, and ensuring accuracy. Travel is minimal; a points-based career path and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• No experience required for an entry level position in the electric utility industry. More experience performing detailed CAD/design for high voltage substation projects could result in a higher pay band.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
