Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Drafter 1,2,3 – Substation to perform routine substation design tasks using AutoCAD and CAD standards under the supervision of a Design Lead.

You will contribute to design, document management, and quality control across substation projects while collaborating with the Engineering team. Associates degree preferred; entry-level candidates welcome with growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred.
• Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design preferred.
• No experience required for entry level in electric utility industry; more experience may increase pay band.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and email.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD preferred).
• Basic knowledge of substation components and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, or reference material.
• Learn and use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Identify project-related problems and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
