Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to lead high-value procurements, flowing down FAR/DFARS requirements, negotiating terms, and managing complex subcontracting in a senior individual-contributor role. This position may be performed remotely or on-site at a Saab, Inc.

office. The role requires coordinating with Engineering, Programs, and suppliers, drafting SOWs, issuing RFIs/RFQs, and ensuring regulatory compliance with USG requirements, while traveling up to 25% annually across

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 10+ years of experience, or MBA/MS/JD degree with 8+ years.
• U.S. Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience.
• Experience navigating and flowing down FAR/DFARS contract requirements.
• Advanced purchasing experience, including a comprehensive understanding of purchasing fundamentals and building orders in an ERP system.
• Experience with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply sound judgment and creativity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen, including the ability to determine cost reasonableness.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
• Assist the Engineering team in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs to subcontractors and manage the process to ensure complete information.
• Conduct flow-down analyses to ensure compliance with customer requirements including FAR/DFARS, FAA, and international requirements.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Execute subcontracts, IDCT agreements, NDAs, leasing agreements, and long-term agreements.
• Write contract letters and maintain legal records in compliance with government requirements.
• Support proposal costing efforts for materials and labor.
• Coordinate work with Saab programs across sites and affiliates; travel up to 25% annually.
