Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Subcontracts Manager to join the Supply Chain team. This senior IC role focuses on high-value procurements with critical subcontractors and negotiating contract agreements while navigating FAR/DFARS and other regulatory requirements. The position can be remote or on-site in the US.

The candidate will review requirements, assist engineering with SOWs, issue RFIs/RFQs, and lead flow-down analyses to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 10+ years of experience, or MBA/MS/JD degree with 8+ years
• U.S. Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience.
• Experience navigating and flowing down FAR/DFARS contract requirements.
• Advanced purchasing experience and ERP purchasing processes.
• Experience with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving with sound judgment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen and cost reasonableness.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down requirements for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Assist Engineering in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs to subcontractors and manage information flow.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, FAA, and international requirements.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and performance.
• Execute subcontracts, IDCTs, NDAs, and long-term agreements.
• Maintain legal records per U.S. Government requirements.
• Support proposal costing for materials and labor.
• Coordinate with Saab programs across sites; may involve Saab affiliates outside the U.S.
• Travel up to 25% annually (domestic/international).
