Job summary

Saab, Inc. seeks a Subcontracts Manager to lead high-value procurements and manage complex subcontractors in a senior individual-contributor role. You will negotiate contracts, flow down FAR/DFARS, and support engineering with SOWs.

The position can be remote or on-site, with travel up to 25% annually. A U.S. government contracting background and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience.
• Experience navigating and flowing down FAR/DFARS contract requirements.
• Advanced purchasing experience and ERP ordering.
• Experience with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving with sound judgment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down requirements for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Assist Engineering in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs to subcontractors and manage responses.
• Conduct flow-down analyses for customer requirements including FAR/DFARS and FAA.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Execute subcontracts, IDCT, NDAs, leasing agreements, and long-term agreements.
• Write contract letters and maintain legal records per US Government standards.
• Support proposal costing for materials and labor.
• Coordinate with Saab programs across sites and affiliates.
• Travel up to 25% annually domestically and internationally.
