Job summary

Saab, Inc. invites applications for a Subcontracts Manager who will lead high-value procurements, negotiate contracts, and flow down FAR/DFARS requirements. The role supports the Supply Chain organization and involves creating SOWs, issuing RFIs/RFQs, and managing multiple critical suppliers.

This senior contributor position may be remote or on-site with up to 25% travel. The ideal candidate has DoD/FAA contracting experience and strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 10+ years of experience, or MBA/MS/JD with 8+ years of experience
• US Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience
• Experience navigating and flowing down FAR/DFARS contract requirements
• Advanced purchasing experience and ERP orders
• Experience with contracting methods and types
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving with sound judgment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down mandatory requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
• Assist the Saab, Inc. Engineering team in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs to subcontractors and manage the process and ensure receipt of complete information.
• Conduct flow-down analyses to ensure compliance with customer requirements, including FAR/DFARS, FAA, and international requirements.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Execute subcontracts, Inter-divisional Work Transfer (IDCT) agreements, NDAs, leasing agreements, and long-term agreements.
• Write contract letters and maintain comprehensive legal records in compliance with U.S. Government Certified Purchasing System requirements.
• Support proposal costing efforts for materials and labor.
• Facilitate recurring meetings and problem resolution.
• Coordinate work with Saab, Inc. programs across multiple business areas and sites; may involve Saab affiliates outside the United States.
• Manage critical suppliers and subcontractors, including participation in Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Contribute to Supply Chain metrics, reporting, continuous improvement, and other strategic initiatives.
• Travel up to 25% annually, domestically and internationally.
