Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a senior Subcontracts Manager to lead high-value procurements with critical subcontractors. You will flow down FAR/DFARS requirements, negotiate terms, and execute subcontracts and NDAs while ensuring compliance across multiple sites and programs.

The role offers remote or on-site work options, requires a 10+ year background in government contracting or 8+ years with advanced degrees, and includes travel up to 25%. A robust benefits package complements the opportunity.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 10+ years of experience, or MBA/MS/JD with 8+ years.
• U.S. Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience.
• Experience navigating and flowing down FAR/DFARS contract requirements.
• Advanced purchasing experience, including a comprehensive understanding of purchasing fundamentals and building orders in an ERP system.
• Experience with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply sound judgment and creativity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen, including the ability to determine cost reasonableness.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
• Assist Engineering in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs and manage responses.
• Conduct flow-down analyses for FAR/DFARS, FAA, and international requirements.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and performance.
• Execute subcontracts, IDCTs, NDAs, leasing agreements and long-term agreements.
• Write contract letters and maintain compliance records for U.S. Government purchasing systems.
• Support proposal costing for materials and labor.
• Coordinate work with Saab programs across sites and with affiliates.
• Travel up to 25% annually.
