Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to join its Supply Chain team. This senior IC role will execute and manage high-value procurements with critical subcontractors, including negotiating contracts and ensuring FAR/DFARS compliance.

The position can be performed remotely or on-site, with travel up to 25%. The role supports proposal costing, coordination across sites, and continuous improvement within the supply chain.

Qualifications

• U.S. Government, DoD, or FAA contracts experience.
• Experience navigating FAR/DFARS requirements.
• Advanced purchasing experience and ERP orders.
• Experience with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen and cost reasonableness.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and flow down requirements for compliance and risk mitigation.
• Assist Engineering in creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Issue RFIs and RFQs to subcontractors and manage responses.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements incl. FAR/DFARS, FAA, intl.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, cost, schedule, and performance.
• Execute subcontracts, IDCT, NDAs, leases, and long-term agreements.
• Write contract letters and maintain records per requirements.
• Support proposal costing for materials and labor.
• Facilitate recurring meetings and issue resolution.
• Coordinate work with programs across sites and Saab affiliates abroad.
• Manage critical suppliers and conduct quarterly business reviews.
• Contribute to supply chain metrics, reporting, and improvements.
