Job summary

DSI Tech is seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Solutions Architect to lead technical design from initial customer conversation through to implementation handoff. The role involves on-site surveys, BOM creation, and collaboration with sales and delivery teams to ensure compliant, cost-effective cabling solutions.

The position is in Ashburn, Virginia, with a strong emphasis on customer-facing engagement and adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical design for structured cabling projects.
• Ability to translate field conditions into an implementable design and BOM.
• Experience with customer-facing design reviews and SOW development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer discovery meetings to capture requirements.
• Conduct on-site surveys of facilities and assess existing infrastructure.
• Design structured cabling solutions including CAT6/CAT6A and fiber.
• Develop Bills of Materials and Statements of Work for proposals.
• Prepare technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD/Bluebeam/Visio.
• Review RFIs, drawings, and specs to clarify requirements.
• Handoff designs to delivery teams and support implementation.
• Provide support during installation and review as-built docs.
• Help establish repeatable engineering standards and templates.
