Job summary

DSI Tech is expanding its Structured Cabling practice and seeks an experienced Structured Cabling Solutions Architect to lead the technical design from initial customer conversation through BOM, SOW, and proposal support. The role is customer-facing and requires walking sites, understanding business requirements, and delivering compliant, scalable cabling solutions.

The position is full-time and in-office in Ashburn, VA, with a focus on data centers, campuses, and enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in structured cabling design and support.
• Strong knowledge of Cat6, Cat6A, single/multimode fiber, backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Experience surveying facilities and translating site conditions into implementable designs.
• Proven ability to develop Bills of Materials and support cost estimates.
• Experience creating Statements of Work, design packages, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design of cabling solutions from discovery to BOM and SOW.
• Perform on-site surveys and assess existing infrastructure.
• Develop Bills of Materials and estimates for proposals.
• Create technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD/Bluebeam/Visio.
• Handoff to delivery teams and provide on-site support during installation.
