Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Structures Engineer III to own structural design and analysis for New Glenn’s second stage and payload accommodations. You will develop 3D models, drawings, and interface control documents, and perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure robust, producible hardware.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate across design, manufacturing, and test teams, and drive continuous improvements in manufacturability and reliability. A strong aerospace background is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering and 5–8+ years of experience in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Significant experience with metallic aerospace hardware, fluid systems, or structural composites across full lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience in production or test environments and strong CAD/FEA capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key contributor for structural design and configuration of launch vehicle structures, including interfaces and accommodations.
• Lead detailed design efforts: 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Plan and perform structural sizing using hand calculations and FEA; coordinate with analysts.
• Drive disposition of nonconformances, support MRB, and participate in failure investigations.
• Develop structural test plans and procedures for development, qualification, and acceptance tests.
