Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced structural engineer to design, analyze, and test primary and secondary structures for the New Glenn second stage. You will own designs from concept through launch, sizing, and integration with manufacturing teams.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace structures, strong CAD/CAE skills (Creo, Nastran, ANSYS), and the ability to work in a collaborative team focused on safety and reliable spaceflight. US citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering required.
• 5+ years in aerospace structures (automotive/aircraft/spacecraft/launch vehicle)
• Experience with metallic and composite structures and structure design
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Strong mechanical design and 3D CAD integration skills
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture
• US citizen or eligible to work in the US
• Knowledge of cryogenic design considerations and lifecycle experience
• Experience with full product lifecycle of design, test, and production

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, develop, and test primary and secondary structures for New Glenn.
• Create 3D models, detail drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Provide manufacturing and production support for hardware.
• Support integration, trades studies, and test planning and data review.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on materials and processes.
