Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of the second-stage structures for New Glenn. You will own fabrication interfaces, develop 3D models and drawings, and guide production through qualification and readiness reviews.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive manufacturability improvements, and ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and lifecycle cost objectives.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering and 8+ years in aerospace structures.
• Hands-on experience with structures for launch vehicles or aircraft.
• Experience with CAD, hand calculations, and FEA for flight hardware.
• Multi-functional collaboration to develop robust designs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner for structural design of launch vehicle structures.
• Lead design, analysis, development, and testing for production support and sustainment.
• Resolve hardware discrepancies and lead investigations and corrective actions.
• Guide cross-functional teams on manufacturability and lifecycle cost reduction.
• Develop and approve 3D models, drawings, and interface control documents.
• Lead structural test plans and data analysis; update design based on results.
• Mentor engineers and guide hardware readiness for flight.
