Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to own the design, analysis, and testing of structural subsystems for New Glenn's second stage and payload accommodations. You will guide manufacturability improvements, support production, and mentor junior engineers to ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight.

You will develop and maintain 3D models, drawings, and test plans, coordinating with design, manufacturing, test, and mission operations to ensure hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering with 8+ years of aerospace structures experience.
• Hands-on experience with hardware production or in-service.
• Expertise in metallic aerospace structures design and analysis.
• CAD/FEA with Creo/Windchill; experience with hand calculations.
• Experience in multi-functional teams; strong communication.
• Knowledge of GD&T and design-for-manufacture.
• Proven ability to take hardware lifecycle from requirements to integration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner for structural design and configuration of pressurized and unpressurized launch vehicle structures.
• Lead detailed design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures.
• Own resolution of hardware discrepancies and leadership in corrective actions.
• Drive cross-functional problem resolution across design, manufacturing, test, and mission ops.
• Lead research, concept development, and trade studies for manufacturability and lifecycle cost reduction.
• Develop and approve 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
