Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr Sterile Processing Technician to maintain high standards in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments for Surgical Services. The role supports the OR by supplying sterile products, trays, and case carts as needed.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of sterile processing experience and a CRCST or CSPDT certification, enabling advanced knowledge of sterilization techniques and interdepartmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of sterile processing experience preferred.
• Sterile Processing certification: CRCST or CSPDT required.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination and assembling of complex surgical trays and instrumentation using established count sheets.
• Sterilizes instruments and trays according to manufacturer instructions and department policies.
• Identifies and prioritizes timely sterile products, trays, and case carts based on the OR schedule and staff needs.
• Maintains consistent workflow between the OR and Sterile Processing while delivering excellent customer service.
