Job summary

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, inspect, wrap and sterilize surgical instruments for Surgical Services and ancillary departments. You will work closely with OR staff to supply sterile products and maintain workflow between OR and Central Sterile Processing.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to universal precautions, with required CRCST or CSPDT certification within 1 year and a high school

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal Sterile Processing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble and sterilize basic instruments and trays.
• Provide timely sterile products, trays and case carts in coordination with OR staff.
• Ensure quality checks per manufacturer instructions and hospital policies.
• Maintain workflow between OR and Central Sterile Processing with good customer service.
• Follow universal precautions and proper PPE in decontamination area.
