Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the OR and Central Service by decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. You will ensure timely sterile products and contribute to safe patient care.

Responsibilities include maintaining workflow between OR and Sterile Processing, following Universal Precautions, and using instrument tracking systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal Sterile Processing education is preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification within 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, assembly and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.
• Wraps and organizes trays and case carts for timely delivery to OR and departments.
• Maintains workflow between OR and Central Service Sterile Processing with excellent customer service.
• Utilizes instrument tracking system and adheres to safety and infection control policies.
• Communicates with team to ensure patient safety and efficient care transitions.
