Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a 100% remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. The position requires strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python and experience with both manual and automated testing within Agile environments.

A Public Trust (MBI) clearance is required, with a competitive salary range and full-time employment. Ideal candidates will have extensive test experience across web apps and APIs, proficiency in test

Competenze

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Proficient in writing/executing test cases, scripts, plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks/tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Version control know-how (Git, Subversion).
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect Tracking (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of SQL and databases for data validation.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, services.
• Understanding of security testing practices.

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, procedures to meet requirements.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify test data.
• Lead tests and IT systems to ensure defect-free operation.
• Document and communicate test results and findings.

• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
