Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a remote role within the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python, plus extensive experience in both manual and automated testing.

A public trust/MBI clearance is required, with responsibilities spanning test planning, execution, and defect resolution across IT systems. Candidates should be proficient in test automation tools (Selenium, JUnit/ TestNG), CI/CD

Formación

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience delivering complex software projects with high-quality results.
• Experience in manual and automated testing.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum and SDLC concepts.
• Proficient in test case/script creation and execution.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and VCS (Git, SVN).
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking (JIRA, Bugzilla) and SQL databases.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure conformance to standards.
• Create test schedules and approaches; document and communicate results.
• Lead test activities and verify software/IT systems for defects.
• Record progress and report issues to management; suggest improvements.
• Coordinate with teams to resolve complex problems and optimize procedures.
• Contribute to test metrics and daily reporting.
