Orb is looking for a senior software engineer to own a core runtime surface that handles entitlements, spend controls, and real-time analytics. You will design APIs, data models, and primitives used across teams while balancing latency, reliability, and product usability.

The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and customer-facing product surfaces and requires strong product sense and hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of owning products or systems end to end.
• Ability to design APIs and data models that other teams and customers depend on.
• Strong sense for latency and reliability in real-time systems.
• Experience collaborating with product, design, sales, and customer success to solve customer pain points.

Responsibilities

• Own a product surface end to end — from customer conversations and product design through API design, implementation, and rollout.
• Design and ship alerting and analytics that are granular, flexible, and fast enough to meet latency SLAs.
• Build the entitlement and spend-control primitives (credit balances, allocations, usage-percentage alerts, rate limits).
• Shape the roadmap and interfaces that other teams build against.
• Collaborate with enterprise and AI customers and cross-functional teams to translate pain points into deliverables.
