Job summary

Orb is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Entitlements & Spend Platform team, leading engineers building the runtime layer between Orb's billing engine and customer workflows. You will shape technical direction, drive the roadmap with product and design, and ensure low-latency, correct systems with strong API surfaces.

You will partner with product, design, and other engineering leaders to deliver high-impact features, mentor engineers, and maintain a culture of excellence in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in an engineering manager or tech lead role.
• Proven track record of growing engineers and maintaining a high bar for technical excellence.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and establish foundations for a high-leverage domain.

Responsibilities

• Own the success and growth of your engineers, with regular 1:1s and onboarding new hires.
• Review architecture and design with an eye for long-term maintainability and debt management.
• Advocate for developer experience and strong API design across the team.
• Drive scoping, costing, estimation, and manage cross-functional communication.
• Lead quality assurance and ensure correctness and latency in critical domains.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to align roadmap with customer needs.
