Orb in San Francisco is seeking a senior software engineer to own a backend surface end to end—from customer conversations and product design to API design, implementation, and rollout. You will contribute to alerts, analytics, and real-time entitlement checks that power Orb’s pricing, credits, and commitments.

In this role you’ll work across enterprise and AI customers, collaborating with PM, design, and sales to translate pain points into robust primitives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience and ownership of products or systems end to end.
• Strong customer empathy and ability to translate pain points into solutions.
• Experience designing APIs and data models used by multiple teams and customers.
• Enough systems depth to reason about real-time, low-latency tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own a product surface end to end—from customer conversations and design through API design, implementation, and rollout.
• Design and ship alerting and analytics that are granular and fast, meeting latency SLAs.
• Build entitlement and spend-control primitives that reflect real-time billing state.
• Shape the roadmap and interfaces that other teams build against.
