Job summary

Affirm is building its own bank and this Senior Software Engineer role sits in the engineering team that runs it. You’ll own bank systems end-to-end, from cloud infrastructure to data platform and durable workflows, shipping the deposit product and enabling loan originations.

Joining a small, AI-native team, you’ll set coding standards, improve documentation, and partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit to ensure examiner-ready decisions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with end-to-end ownership through launch and operations
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and delivering with engineering judgment
• Bias toward simplicity in a lean engineering culture
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development
• Strong systems thinking across cloud infrastructure and data platforms
• Regulated-environment experience with examiner-facing documentation
