Job summary

Affirm is building its own bank and this Senior Software Engineer role sits within the engineering team that runs it. You will own bank systems end-to-end, from cloud infrastructure to data platform and durable workflows, delivering critical infrastructure for the bank's deposit products and card issuing.

As a senior IC, you will influence design standards, mentor peers, and ship AI-first solutions while managing vendor relationships and ensuring audit-ready compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on ownership through launch and operations.
• Ability to move quickly in ambiguity while balancing speed with engineering judgment.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own bank systems end-to-end: design, build, integrate, operate, and respond to incidents.
• Set and improve code review and design standards on a small team.
• Ship AI-first solutions and leverage agentic workflows to multiply impact.
• Manage vendor relationships end-to-end within a bank-tech stack.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit from day one.
