Salesforce, Inc. seeks an experienced Production Support Engineer (SMTS) to join the embedded reliability team. You will drive scalability, reliability, and automation for a global supply chain AI-powered platform, working with senior engineers and product owners.

You will own the observability and performance improvements, contribute to design reviews, and help shift architecture from startup-speed to enterprise-scale. This role emphasizes autonomy and technical breadth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, Production Engineering, or Backend Engineering with a heavy focus on operations and scale.
• Proven Scaling Experience: helped take a product through a high-growth phase, dealing with tech debt and architectural shifts.
• Coding mastery: production-level code in Golang, TypeScript, or Python with automation focus.
• Technical breadth: Kubernetes, Terraform/OpenTofu, and AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Observability: instrumenting apps with SLO-based monitoring and alerting.
• Distributed systems: debugging interactions between microservices, databases, and AI agents.
• Low-ego collaboration: experience in a senior team of principal engineers.
• AI fluency: ability to use modern AI tools to move faster and build reliable systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability roadmap for major product areas and scale systems for global demand.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to refine infrastructure strategy and capacity planning.
• Maintain and evolve automated environments with infrastructure-as-code.
• Scale AI/ML infrastructure with GPU resources and data pipelines for real-time insights.
• Lead hardening of the observability stack and build proactive tooling.
• Deep-dive into SQL, API latency, and cross-service communication to stay performant.
• Leverage AI tools to automate routine operational tasks and accelerate delivery.
• Identify issues independently and own the solution through to deployment.
