Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer (SMTS) to join our embedded reliability team. You will scale our Agentforce Operations platform, optimize performance, and automate infrastructure in a high-velocity environment.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable solutions and own critical reliability initiatives. The role emphasizes production excellence, observability, and AI-driven automation, with a focus on global-scale, enterprise-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, Production Engineering, or Backend Engineering with a heavy focus on operations and scale.
• Proven Scaling Experience taking a product through a high-growth phase (1 to 100).
• Ability to write and review production-grade code in Golang, TypeScript, or Python.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform/OpenTofu, and cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Demonstrated experience with instrumenting applications and platforms with SLO-based monitoring and alerts.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and debugging microservice interactions.
• Ability to lead initiatives within a senior team while supporting broader technical vision.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI development tools to accelerate infrastructure delivery.
• Ownership mentality to identify issues and drive end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability roadmap for major product areas and scale architecture globally.
• Partner with engineers to refine infrastructure strategy and system design.
• Maintain and evolve automated environments and infrastructure-as-code.
• Support AI/ML infrastructure scaling, ensuring GPU resources and data pipelines for insights.
• Lead production hardening and build telemetry to prevent and explain incidents.
• Deep-dive into SQL, API latency, and cross-service communication for performance at scale.
• Leverage AI tools to automate routine operational tasks and accelerate delivery.
