Job summary

Jobgether in the United States is seeking a Senior Service Designer to lead human-centered design initiatives for federal agencies, starting with the Department of Veterans Affairs. You will shape strategies by translating research into actionable solutions and collaborating with product, engineering, data, and research teams.

This senior individual contributor role emphasizes design excellence, responsible AI innovation, and opportunities to influence client decisions while growing the service

Qualifications

• 5+ years in service design, UX or user research with leadership on complex engagements
• Strong service design methods, research, systems thinking and strategic problem solving
• Proven ability to deliver high-impact projects with measurable value
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management; able to influence senior leaders
• Experience partnering with product, engineering, data and research teams in agile settings
• Ability to connect design decisions to business objectives and growth opportunities
• Experience with federal government contexts is a plus; data science knowledge helpful

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional service design engagements with high quality and timely delivery
• Apply mixed-method research to understand user needs and challenges
• Map relationships between people, processes, tech and organizations for holistic insights
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data and research teams to define solutions
• Engage clients, validate assumptions, present and defend service design recommendations
• Identify risks and maintain delivery quality aligned with objectives
• Explore responsible AI to accelerate discovery and outcomes
• Contribute to internal initiatives and share emerging practices
• Support business development by translating challenges into proposals
• Foster an inclusive, curious team culture with high standards
