Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Senior Service Designer based in the United States to lead human-centered design initiatives that modernize public services and improve digital outcomes for federal programs. This fully remote role emphasizes discovery, strategic design, and collaborative delivery with product, engineering, data, and research teams.

You will influence client decisions, establish design practices, and contribute to growth while working on programs supporting agencies like the VA.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in service design, UX design, or a related discipline with leadership of complex engagements.
• Strong command of service design methods, research/discovery techniques, and systems thinking.
• Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent client relationship management, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with product, engineering, data, and research teams in agile environments.
• Strategic/problem-solving mindset aligned to client outcomes and growth opportunities.
• Ability to apply responsible AI-enabled approaches to improve productivity and outcomes.
• Project and delivery management skills; capacity to navigate ambiguity and risks.
• Leadership and accountability; fosters collaboration and inclusive culture.
• Curiosity, continuous learning, and openness to diverse perspectives.
• Preferred: experience supporting federal government agencies; familiarity with data science/data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional service design engagements with focus on outcomes and measurable impact.
• Apply mixed-method research to understand user needs, processes, and technology ecosystems.
• Map complex relationships to develop holistic service design strategies.
• Collaborate with product, engineers, data scientists, and researchers to define and solve problems.
• Engage with clients, validate assumptions, and present design recommendations.
• Identify risks and ensure quality while aligning with program objectives.
• Explore responsible AI tools to accelerate discovery and decision-making.
• Contribute to internal initiatives and share emerging practices.
• Support proposals and new business opportunities through service design insights.
• Establish and promote service design methodologies and best practices.
