Job summary

Estes Express seeks a Service Center Manager to lead a large LTL operation, overseeing dock, city, and scheduling across shifts. You will drive safety, performance, and customer service, building strong relationships with customers and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, budgeting, P&L oversight, and developing annual plans; travel may be required. You must manage KPI achievement and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Minimum five years leadership in the LTL industry.
• Experience managing a LTL Service Center operation.
• Proficient with AS400 and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, team-building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer focus.
• Strong verbal, written and listening communication.
• Excellent planning and organization.
• Ability to train and mentor staff; willingness to travel.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct Service Center employees; set goals and monitor performance.
• Oversee hiring, training and terminations with proper follow-up.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules and regulations.
• Develop and deliver strategies to meet revenue, service, expense and profit goals.
• Create and implement annual Service Center plans and quarterly reviews.
• Maintain relationships with customers and internal departments to ensure safety, service and quality.
• Oversee dock, city operations and scheduling for timely freight deliveries.
• Ensure KPI targets are met and improvements implemented.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with safety, sales, claims, and fleet services.
• Represent the company before government agencies and legal entities.
